Default Random lumpiness on pulling off

Was sat in a long que of slow moving stop start traffic, temp gague never got above 3 bars just stumbled a bit when going from first to second took it for a quick vtec 2 miles down the road and all seemed fine.

had a quick look under the bonnet and all levels were ok there was evidence of a bit of brake fluid leaked from the cap of the resevoir in the master cylinder though.

washed it off and checked the seal etc all seems fine.

is this an ocational random thing or does the car not like being crawled in traffic for a while then reved ?

A common problem. A quick little rev with the clutch down seems to clear it's throat! Possible that map sensor is playing funny buggers. Look on MB's signature there is a link to very useful thread on this topic.

The search is your friend!

Common problem. Get yourself a snorkel to fit the OEM air box.

I would say yes given that it gets worse on mine if the airbox lid is removed.

Common problem with heat soak.

Checking the throttle cable is tight is a good check.

If it gets really bad then a new MAP sensor can cure it.

cool, yep it ws probably heat soak, throttle cable was fine and the car behaved itself on this evenings jaunt to the ice rink.

I may look into a map sensor though are they pricey ?

snorkel ?

I had one on my izusu trooper which could wade through 1.5 meter deep fords woudnt want to do that in the s though as I'd be driving under water

out of intrest when do the radiator fans come on as I've never seen my car get above 3 bars on the temp gague and have nevar heard the fans come on.

The car is a toy so rarley spends mutch time in traffic jams or sat idiling
