Default Rattle

I have a rattle coming from, I think, under the car somewhere around the the middle or rear. It sounds like a piece of thin metal, like a heat shield, that's loose. It's audible on tick-over and over-run.

I haven't had chance to get underneath and take a look yet, but are there any obvious things to check when I do?

Cheers,

Cat heat shield is my bet. I'm guessing one of the bolts has disappeared.

Yes check if the cats heatshield is loose or the cat is failed generally. Also check the manifolds heatshield as they also tend to come loose and create a rattling sound which is coming from the engine bay and not from the underside of the car

Thanks, folks. Definitely not the manifold shield, but the cat shield would be right where I think the noise is coming from........
