Hi all.

First technical query post.

Just bough MY02 car about a month ago and noticed on warm start up and at idle I get a rattle from the front end, right down low at the front of the engine bay.

I have been told that it could be either the timing chain rattling or somthing to do with the exhaust / baffles etc.

Has anybody else come across this noise and if so how did you remedy it?

Do I need to worry about anything?

Cam Chain Tensioner?

 

This would be my first port of call.

 

You want to worry about getting it seen to fairly quickly, in case the chain is badly worn & jumps a cog and the valves & pistons meet each other at high speed.

Is it easy to sort and how much would it cost to put right?
