Rattling down the road
Here is the situation. I have two annoying rattles. One is Exhaust / Cat heat shield which I know has lost a couple of bolts which I have some stainless bolts but not enough time to sort, the other has been annoying on and off for a while and could I find it?
For a while it sounded like the location was behind the dashboard, which I resigned myself never to find.
Then suddenly a revelation, after adjusting the rear-view mirror it disappears.
Today I was to be its nemesis (well how difficult can it be?).
I have never come across anything that is made of 4 parts of metal that was so difficult to put back together and fit correctly even after checking the lings Honda parts breakdown diagram
.
After many attempts and puzzled expressions............. success.
My problem was not locating the large retainer washer under the angled leg of the small washer with the spring now under captive tension.
Sounds simple and I could do it in 5 minutes now.

Now you post this!
Like I said, it's easy when you have done it right.
but when I removed mine the whole lot sprung apart so I had no Idea (many will say this) how it went back together.
Thanks for the video it makes my post a great deal clearer.

Yeah I'd bookmarked it as I'd heard of people having trouble with their rear view mirror in the past and never seen a clear "How To" - mine is fine but I'm going to have to get my screen replaced soon and I've heard of fitters messing it up and causing the rattle.
