Default Rear ABS sensor

Hi guys, what's the best way to get the rear ABS sensor out without breaking it? I hear that these are prone to breaking, I've undone the 10mm bolt but it seems stuck in there.

what do you need to take it out for? can you unclip it from the source? that's what i had to do with mine on the front when i did a wheel bearing, practically impossible to get out without a high risk of damage

socket with an extension on the face side just small enough to go through the hole and give it a few sharp taps with the hammer

I tool all 4 of my ABS sensors out last year, undid the little bolt and prized them out with a flat screwdriver no problem, when I refitted them I cleaned the hole, then cleaned the outside of the sensors with some fine abrasive paper and refitted with some grease and bobs your uncle.

Definitely. I followed DD's advice, with the driveshafts removed, get a 13mm deep reach socket that sits over the probe but around the base of the sensor, a few good hammer taps and they came free

Very true I was lucky, having said that I took it real slow used plenty od wd40 and was helped by the fact my car has had very little wet use in its life so there was no corrosion to sieze the little bastards in
