Default Rear speakers ...

I'm seriously thinking about buying one of Lucids rear speaker sets, but reading the electronics forum, there seems to ba mixed opinions.

I'd appreciate peoples views, on whether they really do make a difference or not, and more importantly whether the improvement is worth the $200.

FYI I have upgraded the HU to a recent Alpine, and also upgraded the door speakers to Focal Access speakers. I plan to drive all 4 speakers from the HU.

Cheers cb

depends what sound your going for, i spent months listening to set ups and found the only real gain to be had was to buy a very good set of components to fit in the front door panels, decent speaker cable and a good amp to run it, yes it costs more but the sound if done right is far better.

without a doubt you need to do door speakers if you are going to do rear panels - agreed.

CB if you want to have a chat about the home DIY process PM me and I will talk you through it if you decide to follow that route.

Here are a few pics of what I did to give you an idea

I have since bought a spare set of panels from ebay so can return to stock whenever I want

100% (speaking as someone who has run JBL42s in lucid panels before experiencing a properly amped fornt speaker system - no comparison)

Its really simple to do and makes a huge difference to the 'surround' sound.
I have them, and a sub in the boot which gives me great sound.

You'll need to upgrade the fronts too though if you haven't already. The stock ones are junk.
