Default Rechip advice

A newbie question so I expect to burnt!

Understand that there is a rechip available which lowers the RPM at which the valve timing changes, so giving more stomp lower in the rev range.

My question, is it worthwhile or true??

Advice appreciated.

Actually, there is no replacable or reprogrammable chip. Add-ons like the V-AFC from APEXi can make the change you desire but the jury is still out, I think, on whether you want to.

Never heard of a chip, you can buy VTEC controllers which lower the VTEC kick in, Ive never seen these on an S2000 but I have seen them on Preludes. They are usually offered by Japanese tuning companies, I think spoon may do one.

Take you don't think they add to the total enjoyment, or are they badly designed?

Colly,
I've been considering one myself, but there has been a mixed response on the us forums as to whether it actually helps performance or not.

For the price of it certainly is a nice bit of kit.
Otherwise, you could always try NOS.

NOS is the way to go.
Just gives you that extra hp when you need it most....... doing donuts in ASDA carpark.

A friend of mine at work has just got hold of his NOS.
(Its being put in a nissan.)

I watched F&F again last night.... (yes, sad I know) but the hondas are great to watch

Also,
Looking at ebay agin...
I noticed a honda service manual for an s2000 on there for those that might be interested.
