Default Recommended tuner / rolling road in the North West

I've bought myself a few more bits & pieces including an AEM EMS v2 & wideband sensor and want to get the S mapped in a few weeks when they are on the car and I have some more time.

I know AJ is doing a rolling road session in Surrey and we have had numerous conversations but that is more distance than I want to travel and I will jump at the chance if he does an 'Up North' session. However, I am trying to make plans just in case this does not happen.

I know there is TDI North in Warrington which I have heard mixed reviews about , there is another place called Auto Sport North in Wallasay which I know nothing about and I know of a few local ones but they have never tuned an AEM so I am reluctant to go near them.

I live just outside Chester and would be willing to travel a maximum of 100 miles to get a good job done, so any suggestions for a good tuner that has a good rolling road in the North West?

Thanks
Martin

Mikehanics did mine (even if it was on an Omex 600 that AJ doesn't like ).

They have lots of experience with tuning and managed to get 17bhp more from my car between 5-6000rpm

Just checked with them and they don't touch S2000's or AEM's.

Hey Martin!

I had my car serviced and geo sorted at TDI North and I honestly couldn't praise them enough!

Car handles like a dream and they only charged me for the serviceable parts needed (my 56 reg has only 28k on the clock). They basically tailored the service for my car rather than changing bits on the car that would only need doing on a car with double the mileage.

Most importantly though they really looked after it.

They're in the process of building a 800bhp s2000 drag car which I enjoyed looking at.

Thanks
Alex

Hi Alex,

I may end up going to TDI North, I just wanted to see what other options are out there and at the moment I don't have that many.

Yep I was in the same position in March as I previously used to take my car to GarageR.

After speaking to TDI North on the phone I bit the bullet and took it to them, really glad I did now as the car drives brilliantly (they even unseized my rear callipers). They honestly couldn't do enough (at a very reasonable rate)...

Give them a call and they'll happily talk to you regarding options.

BTW have the gypsies left heronbridge car park? If so are you still able to park there (I've got to head over next week).

Alex, yes the pykies are gone - funny thing is I drove in to the top of the car park so didn't see them until I nearly ran over one of them & then thought time to go in case Paddy came out looking for a fight

I will bear TDI in mind when I get around to it in hopefully a few weeks time

I would make sure I travelled for something like mapping as it's easily cocked up.

Tracktive in Leicester too far? Guru mapper there.

MB hit the nail on the head. You can't take mapping lightly and you really want to get the best guy you can afford to do it despite how far away he/she is.

I would recommend Pip at WGT in the local area. I know he is a rotary specialist but my god is he a decent guy with a lot of knowledge. He will do you a very reliable/safe map, which is what you want. People travel from Central Europe for his mapping skills.

Failing him Ricky at Race Tech is the don.
