Default Refurb my nuts!

Hi all

I have some Mugen wheel nuts and they look a bit worse for wear. I want to get them refurbed. What's the best thing to do? get them powder coated? Paint them with a can?

Cheers!

Depends what material they are i guess. Any finish on wheel nuts will take a bit of a beating when they're removed and re-fitted.

Most cost effective is definitely rattle can i'd say. I always think powder coat, while a superior finish, can be a bit brittle and chip fairly easily while spray on paints tend to have more give and wear a bit better. Just my view though

eSeM had his MF-10s PC'd and had no problems. He had the sandcast finish removed, so they are very easy to clean!

I think the Mugen bronze is still difficult to match in PC, but they come out with new colours all the time.

skip reading again!

My nuts are black too. Except for the silvery bits.

Given the hammering they get, I'd be tempted to aresole them.

If they're genuine Mugen, then they are a steel alloy (something like Chrome-Vanadium IIRC).

I replaced my first set ...

So I now have 2 sets that could do with a refurb.

If you powder coat them you wont get a socket over them... What about stripping them and having shiny silver!
