Default Refurbing OEM v2 wheels

I know how wheel refurb companies do normal painted wheels, but the OEM v2s on my car are diamond polished on the fronts so can they actually repair kurb damage and re-polish them or do the wheels need to be repaired and then resprayed so they have a normal paint finish?

Spooky... I was just about to post a similar question when I saw this!! My quandary is I have a set of reasonable 03 diamond cut standard alloys that I intended to get re cut and refurbed to the original spec. The cars used summer only but a few of the companies only offer 6 month warranty on diamond cut. Apparently the finish is good but a slight chip and water gets under the laquer And your back to square one! Really wanted to keep car original but also don't want to make wheel refurb an annual occurrence. Anyone who has had wheels re cut got any thots? Is it worth it or should I be thinking powder coat with a bright silver?

This is what the guys who did my wheels said And the cost was the same so it was no benefit to them

Did you go for the diamond cut then? How have they stood up?

I had mine refurbed/diamond cut in September 2009 and they are still like new after 2 winters. Keep them clean & get loads of wax on them.

Many people who attended MM6 asked had I bought new wheels due to the finish being so good.

That's good to know.. Think I'll go down the diamond cut route as I really want to keep the S original. Probably means 100 quid on new wheel centres too though !!

I got mine powder coated about 4 years ago now - some corrosion has crept back in, not too bad, you can only really see close up. I do regularly clean mine and put wax on.

I think I'll get them re-done just before the summer.
