Does anyone know why I have two key fobs? The first one has only two buttons and the second one has 3 buttons, the extra Button is the boot release. (My boot release doesn't work with the two buttoned key fob and I haven't yet tried to open the boot with the three buttoned fob.)

The 3 button fob is the Honda OEM fob. The other one is the fob you get with the Alarm when it is installed.

You had any joy MaKSiNG?
Mine seems to do that same thing as yours Karl.

You press the open button the first time. The doors unlock and the alarm disarms and the indicator stay on for about a second or two.
Once they go out I have tried to press the open button once or hold it for a second, but my indicators simply flash twice and nothing further.

I am the same, but it a bit annoying that you have to put the key in the lock to open it. It would be annoying enough if you had to use somesort of handle just to open it, especially with hands full.

I guess to the Honda dealer it is then.

It seems all the guys who get this working are MY01 owners or later.

On a very similar topic is it possible to get full closure for the windows when you arm the alarm (the Honda system not Clifford)? Is this another bit of gubbins you have to pay the dealer for?

I guess it depends on whether it was working and now needs fixing or whether we are missing a bit that makes it work

I think I can answer this one Karl

in the my00 year, the alarm fitted had the 'option' of a remote release. this option was not ticked when your (read my ) car had the alarm fittted. Basically it's missing the relay and possibly some wiring (said the dealer but I'm sceptical).

Maybe at a meet someone can take out their relay and put it in (I assume no harm to either donor or your car by doing this) your car and see if that works. The relays are quite cheap but if it needs wiring then the costs will mount up. At the time I never thought of the relay test and didn't mind not having a remote release.

By the sounds of it, it hasn't been set up right. The remote boot release should not work when the car is armed. It even says so in the manual. I would get it checked out.

My Clifford alarm has a great feature.

You press the alarm arm button on the Clifford fob.

You wander around for a bit, perhaps visiting some shops and buying a few bits.

You return to the car and as you approach you get your Clifford alarm fob out.

XBy had some dodgy non honda essex kit installed. I'm suprised that he doesn't have blinking tyre valve caps to indicate that the immobiliser is enabled.

Thanks Dracoro, at least I know I should stop running out to the garage every time I get an idea on this.

BTW - did your (read my ) car ever have a problem with wanting to thrash poxy Saxos away from the lights. As much as I try, I can't control her - she's like a girl on a mission!

Cheers! And when are we gonna see the Westie???
