Default Remote Central Locking Interference?

I left for work this morning and as usual popped the boot open via the remote, but it did not work, I tried again but nothing and then again. I then tried the locks and they did not work, after about the 4 goes the car unlocked and I just thought the batteries in the remote were on there way out.

However when I got home tonight, Kerry had the same problem with the remote for her Clio and she had also been talking to a neighbour who was having the same problem with her Toyota, would be way to much of a coincidence for us all to have battery problems on the same day so what could be causing the problem, never had it before, theres no obvious signs of new masts or aerials around.

very strange and

I don't think so, there are a lot of those around these days and they have a pretty good range. I think it would be more common TBH

Bigfecker - have you got any mobile phone masts near you?

Had a similar problem which was linked eventually to them some years ago at a dealership where I worked - not sure if that excuse still holds though.

Was there a police car or any emergency service vehicle nearby ? Or any coppers themselves ?

Apparently at the Trafford Centre they have recovered loads of vehicles over the last few months with exactly the same problem. If the car is moved a few hundered yards it will open. They think the problem is related to the new digital radio network, Tetra. Probably just local news b*llocks though TBH.
