Default Remote start interface

Has anyone had a remote start interface installed allowing the engine to start via the remote while the doors are still locked ???

Obviously this would not be good with the hood down

Wouldn't be a good idea if you had to leave the car in gear, either!!

If a decent remote starter is fitted, it will run through a series of safety checks (i.e nuetral) before the car is started.

So that's how it would work. D'oh, didn't think of that.

It's actually pretty useful - for example. If you want to leave the car running whilst you get out and open the garage door or something - you can remove the key and arm the alarm.

Do that all the time with the Turbo timer on my scooby, not remote start though but can lock the car and remove the keys and it will run for as long as I set it. Left it outside a pub before running and walked off, people looked very confused when it stopped 30 seconds later

It'll be good to warm the car up during these fresh mornings of recent times !!

I'm sure it'll be just a mod required, I think i'll call Honda see what they have to say........

Used to know a chap who had one on a Calibra (VERY nice example). He said it was brilliant for those early cold mornings. He would put the heating on full blast before turning the engine off and going to bed. In the morning, 5 mins before going to work, touch the button, walk out 5 mins later, warm interior.

Would not suggest the 'Clifford' one, works well for 2 months then goes pete tong.
