hi just removed my bumper as i have water in the boot and the plate holder had moved down and found that the three metal plates had rusted away has any one replaced them and can they be purchased from honda or is it part of the plate holder

cheers guys yes i was shocked by the amount of rust on a 05 30k always garaged car .but at least now i can sort out the leak and the grit collector

Blimey that looks like it's been on the bottom of the ocean for a while...

Need to go and check mine cos other than being a grit collector it collects wet stuff too as shown on your photos!

But the OP does also state he had a leak in the boot which I'm sure won't have helped the situation.

Not good however and I hope you get a new part ok and trace to source of the leak .

New parts are going to cost you about £90 Which is utter robbery. Make your own out of aluminium or stainless steel.

managed to source the part along with the new screws £35 luckily the 2 short bars didn't need replacing because Honda wanted £22 each i think i will hammerite all the brackets before reassembly

And fill the gap with on the lower one some thing like this
If it collects gravel it will also collect salt and I'll bet that's what did for it!
