There's a bolt hole where the vtec solenoid is, people attach engine torque dampers into this hole. There's another somewhere else but I can't remember sorry.

ok so i have some chain and a couple of bolts in place,

engine is on hoist (hoist arm at full extension but stilll a bit short)

gearbox is un-bolted from engine and about a 10mm gap between engine and box and the engine will not move any further,

what other then the gearbox spline in the clutch plate would stop the engine from coming away from the gearbox?

i have tried using a screwdriver or prybar to force it free and it wont move any further.

HELP!!!

Maybe give Garage R a quick call, Rob.

i hope your lifting bolts are rated for the load - make sure nobody gets under it when it's in the air.

that guide looks way to simple.

biggest one is will the engine come out in one go with the gearbox? it always looked like it needed to be split.
edit: oh. step 5: remove the transmission - that answers my question!

ok so 2 min call to Rob at Garage-R and that man is seriously clued up on these cars, told me instantly what i had left in,
what a LEGEND

i did not realise S2000's have a pull type clutch and not a push clutch, so remove clutch slave cylinder and clutch fork and now it looks like this

Many thanks to Rob at Garage-R he really knows his stuff
