K & N is the only way to go. Use the cleaning kit and you know exactly where you stand.

airbox lid off = better sound
airbox lid on = better power

Which filter gives the best of both with NO compromises?

The Mugen or J's give proven gains, but will compromise your wallet

Standard airbox+muz or BYS panel+airfilter of choice.

Personally i've gone for the gutted airbox, with sealed resonance chamber,as per spoon instructions, JR filter and Muz snorkel. Nice sound but not too daft
