Default Replacement brake caliper

Evening all,

Stripped the brakes today in an attempt to stop the squeaks that I currently experience. Unfortunately the rear near side caliper has a piston that is totally U/S. (Getting it back in was a job and a half).

I've been quoted £120 / £170 / £300 by a local part motor factors for a refurbished caliper, is there anywhere online that club members usually use? (I have previously always used Camskill for all my parts). Please don't refer me to the dealer, I probably wouldn't be to impressed with the bill!

Try here http://www.jrt-automotive.co.uk/ £135 for a rear caliper, though £120 is a pretty good deal.

WHS. Alternatively buy a piston from Honda (about £60), and a refurb kit from Honda (another £60) and spend a couple of days swearing profusely trying to get it all together again.

JJ's just got one for me from them for £135 for a rear - not on the S yet but it looks good The service was brilliant - he ordered after the cut off to receive by the weekend so they asked the supplier to send directly to his work

Blimey, £60 for a refurb kit! Hopefully I can get a cheaper deal on that, and attend to the other caliper when I swap the nearside out. Looks like someone had nicked the piston seal at some point and water penetrated in. I only realised when I tried to wind the piston in, it wouldn't budge a mm. I ended up having to push the piston out with the brake pedal, cleaning it some, and then winding it back in.

Ive just rebuilt my calipers all round. I got the OEM rebuild kits from a friend of mine who supplys OEM honda parts. They were about 25 quid each.

We did a group buy of refurb kits from HardTopGuy a couple of years ago, which is where I got the ones I've used recently from. I think that worked out about £20 each.

There's also rockauto in the US, that sell the seals for a couple of pounds only (plus delivery etc.). Unfortunately they don't sell the rear pistons, which is what we really need.
