Default Replacing number plate

My front plate needs replacing so I thought I'd order new plates online. You have to send the company your V5 document?? That seems crazy?! Not only is it your only copy of the legal document but it contains the registered address of your vehicle. Do people really do this willingly?

I just popped out to Halfords instead with my V5. Took 5 minutes and wasn't that much more expensive (given there's no postage).

So just order online using a website that doesnt expect you to send them the V5. Simples.

I ordered mine from fancyplates.com. No need to send the V5 and they turn up in about 3 days.

Thanks for the suggestions, I already bought a plate from Halfords. Thread was really questioning that people out there really had the trust to send their V5s to complete strangers. I personally wouldn't!

Not a chance when there are alternatives which wouldn't require sending off the V5

Plenty Ebay sellers out there do them, no need to send off your V5, cheap and very fast delivery.
