Default Resprays....

Hi all

I have been looking for possibly the rarist car in history since I joined here 2yrs ago- the much loved GPW S2K . Not able to afford 20k for a new model in pearl white (prefer GPW anyway), I am very close to buying a mechanically very descent, low mileage S2000 which I intend to fully respray GPW

I know, I know, I can hear the responses such as 'the quickest way to devalue a car' etc. etc. but I intend on keeping the S2K for quite some time (at least 6-8yrs ). And by then my current thinking is that the cars' value will have decreased so much that a respray will not put off potential buyers anyway

No expense will be spared on the spray - I can garuantee it will be as good, if not better than an OEM GPW car (full engine out job, glass etc. etc.) and it also gives me the opportunity to add a lip kit etc.etc. at the same time.

Am I absolutely wrong in my thinking?? Not sure why I posted this really, if only for a reassurance that I will still be welcomed here on S2KI once the job is done

Has anyone on here had a full respray at all?
Bottom line is I want an S2K as I love them so much. Second to bottom line is that I would always be gutted it wasn't white....

Thanks,
Chris

Go for it, its your car do what you want with it.

Id also consider other colours, whats the point having it white when you can have any colour in the world

If you intend keeping it for awhile this would work out the same and you'll be getting a MY05 over a MY99-MY01.

Swings and roundabouts but it's your choice.

Vinyl wrap?

The good ones can be removed without damaging your paintwork.

Lol yeh, this is kinda a joint purchase with my missus as we are selling her CRX not mine... She loves yellow or white, I only really like white.... lol. The autotrader one I feel is just far too pricey for a 99. I can get a cheaper one inc respray for less than that. They will not go lower than 10700 either, I already asked.
The ebay one has already been sprayed and is a cat d, something that I feel would drag the price down more than the respray. It's also being run on nitrous and didn't get a good 'vibe' when speaking to them....
Vinyl wrap... good suggestion but no - prefer the real deal, ie. paint!

Will keep you informed on what we decide to do.... thanks for your honest comments guys

Vinyl wrap is the way forward.

I've seen a few guys with the new GTR do it.

I personally wouldn't entertain a full respray, you will really struggle to sell it again.
