Well I've just finished the install of my leather console cover and leather gear stick boot! (Yep 1 down, horns to go! )

I've got to say it was an absolute doddle thanks to Ricks step by step instructions! It's taken me just over 1.5 hours to do both cover and boot.

Unfortunately I didn't take any photos during the install but I've got a couple post install here.

The photos have just been taken in the dark and they show a slight colour mismatch between the console and the seats. I think this is probably more to do with the seats needing a clean and some moisturiser than anything else. When you're in the car you definately can't see it.

Having the console cover & boot on makes the cabin feel special. Each grasp of the gear stick has your hand caressing the leather. Pam thought the boot a waste of cash until she felt it with the gear stick in hand

Makes the car feel like a 28 grand motor car! If anyone wants to have a look before ordering drop me a PM.

That's very insensitive of you Andy. Some of us bought our cars in the UK before the 2.5k price drop, so actually paid over 28k for them, without the stylish leather console cover

Nice job Andy!

I am really tempted to follow your example but was kind of put off fitting the shift boot by the instructions (it looked hellish fiddly to do) but looking at the end result I think it may be on the cards (after I convince her indoors that is )

BTW If you give your seats some TLC I would think everything will match up nicely. I was amazed at how good a match to the Honda leather Rick had acheived when I looked at Matt's red console cover at the meet - impressive.

When I read the instructions for the boot I did a double take too... However, as it was sat infront of me and I'd spent the money I thought I'd better give it a go. Once I figured out how to get the LED out of the console cover (push it out and then the plastic mount gently slides off) I brought it inside to work on. I used a cordless screwdriver to scuff off the edges to the heat welded pegs. Makes the inside of the console a little messy but you can't see it!

A tip, after you've got the console off, put the gear knob back on to stop the threads catching on stuff!

If you want to convice her indoors, she can have a feel of my knob with a leather boot on

Worked for my wife

BTW I was amazed at the amount of crap on the console carpet. It probably took the most time to get that clean!
