Default Ringing shifter TSB

As the search is cack, I've been trying to find if there is a TSB for the ringing shifter problem with no joy.

Doing a google search brought up a few threads on ringing shifters, but didn't direct me to any TSB.

The car's in for a new clutch next week so I'd like to have them take a look at this too.

If a TSB exists for this problem can somebody direct me to it please.

Thanks.

Yes it is a known problem - hang on a bit and I'll see if I've got the TSB on my PC

Can you remember the number of it ?

I'm sure they're all stored on here somewhere. Could somebody direct me to the correct part of the site please.

EDIT: Ok I've found where they are, in the s2ki library, but I can't find the ringing shifter one.

I don't recall there being a TSB for it, just a 'how to fix' thing...

Check this is the problem by pressing the gearstick to one side at high revs whilst it is 'ringing' if it stops ringing then...

pack the gear selector with grease

if it doesn't then it's probably something else.

Thanks.

I was going to try that tomorrow just to be sure that it's the ringing shifter issue.

tsb 02-046 i think. do a search someone has posted it on the us forum. this tsb is actualy to fix sticking 5th or reverse gear, but just follow the first section in relation to greasing the various bits of the gear shifter.

if you look for threads on ringing shifter and gear lever surround over the past 6 weeks you should find all the info you need.

Aftermarket one reportedly cures it too!
