I cant believe people get scared by the insurers

usually, insurers will just refuse to pay out for the actual undeclared mods - not the whole car!!

Well Im glad to hear that!

So that means the stories of insurance being voided because of undeclared stuff is untrue?

In that case I'm going run to the garage then to fit my lower spoon and cusco braces... because when I told my insurer I wanted to fit them, they refused... because they dont know what they are.

Painting your brake calipers is not a modification. Adding braces is.

Just had a look on the Admiral site, and the MINI Chilli, Pepper and Salt packs count!

As for strut braces, they'd go under "suspension - other" I think.

Anyone want to call their insurers and ask whether or not painting callipers > a different colour < is a modification or not?
I bet it is a mod. If not I will eat this little bit of paper I have here on my desk.

If you are right I will be painting mine asap.
But you're not offering much in the way of supporting evidence apart from "no"

Ate a 1cm2 piece. I always expect the worse possible outcome from ins companies.

Wondering what's the reasoning behind that, and where does it stop working. I guess I can therefore also powder coat all the suspension bits without telling them, but stops short of full exterior respray?
