Default Roof Split

My S has developed a split in the roof in the usual place which I noticed just in to the New Year - gutted as my S was 5 weeks out of warranty when I found this split.

Took the S to my local Honda dealer - Two Mills, for them to take a look to see if they were willing to do any thing out of good will as I have been going there for nearly 10 years. They said they would have to put my case to Honda UK and last night Honda UK confirmed that they will replace my roof, frame & fittings for me at no cost -

I would be fairly certain that Honda would not just supply me the parts - but I will ask the question.

Now that is a result. Really thought you were going to be telling more bad news then, what a surprize. I hope this sets president if my roof goes.

I guess fixing the roof is abit costly though but it could of been worse.

Good luck getting it sorted!

Well done, thats a good result. But taking a hit for that amount of money is still very annoying. I doubt however you have much choice other than to use a honda approved installer.

Just make sure that for the 8 hours work you warn them of all the shortcuts and pitfalls off, that other people have mentioned, such as splitting roll hoop trim and gouging things. You don't want to get into a further debate about damage. So if you've agreed 8 hours make sure they know the correct way to do the job.

If you plan on keeping the car why not wait, get the dealer to keep the parts then when it gets worse then have it done?

They have told me that it will probably take longer than 8 hours to ensure that all is 100% correct and that the new roof & parts come with a 12 month warranty. The 8 hours was more of a line in the sand for me so that I knew I would not have to pay any more than this agreed amount regardless of how long it takes them.

Has any one used these guys & if so were they any good?

I'm in exactly the same situation as you. Honda Westgate rang me today to see what colour roof I wanted as they were putting a claim into Honda UK.

If I don't have any luck then I'm showing them this thread. Where is your split exactly?
