IIRC if the sound is almost Subaru boxer than it's coilpack or something related. Some of the V6 Clio drivers carry a full set of spare coil packs they go so frequently

:ding: A Suburu pulled into the gym car park after me and a guy I was talking to said that it sounded like he had the same problem as me.

I was planning to try the OEM ECU and injectors. That way I may get some CEL codes to work with.

I had completely knackered injector drivers on my AEM, Mase was able to see it on the tuning set up. The ECU went to Gems and after we set the jumpers correctly all was fine.

I'd guess you have lost a cylinder Steven. Probably and injector gone bad / coil pack / AEM driver / spark plug.

Noise from behind you is just the odd 3 cylinder pulse. Losing a cylinder is a prety destinctive and nasty sound on a 4 pot!

Either that or a major air leak.

I have seen so much vibration only in an engine which has lost a cylinder. Spark plag, injector or coil plug is the reason like MB said

I'm guessing a you're only running on 3 cylinders too
As Phil says, pull coil packs/injectors one at a time. If you pull one and nothing changes then chances are it's that one that's gone.

If it's the coil pack let me know, I've some spares

Should I be pulling the coil packs/injectors with the car running.

I have been having a play but it seems to go from rough to very rough but pulling the injectors don't seem to give the same results as pulling the coil packs

Yeah won't do any harm for a couple of seconds at least.
If it goes from rough to very rough then that component was working ok. If it doesn't change at all then it's probably a problem
