It is one of the coil packs that is fecked & that it isn't anything more serious.

Did you run the car for long?

 

Just as a belt and braces might be worth checking the spark plug underneath the original failed coil pack. Reason I've some spares is I lost a coil pack on the way home from XM.

Did the trouble shooting you've been doing (i.e. diconnected coil pack to ID the cylinder then swap it to check the problem moves with it). Even though everything moved with the coil pack I noticed a lot of dirt on the original coil pack making me double check the plugs and I found this.


The coil was trying to make up for the damage and I think it just burnt itself out
