run flat tyres

Now the cynic in me says the tyre fitters probably sabotaged the tyre because he bitched about them scuffing his alloy.

I'm not sure about that. The fact that the price of tyres varies so widely between garages suggests that the markup at some is huge.

I had runflats on the cooper S - rip off if you ask me. Cheapest i could get fitted was

There's an interesting article on runflat tyres in this weeks Autocar.

The manufacturers know they compromise ride/handling (one of the main the reasons the standard Z4 is not as good as it could be), but they are working towards improving things because it is seen as the way forward. Prices likely to come down as they become more widespread too apparently.
