thanks folks, I'll find a good bodyshop.

Do you think they can remove the rusted area and fill then polish without doing the whole door?

Cheers

I would think the best way of dealing with that is to drill it out and have it welded. I know it's not the same thing but I have just d-badged my boot, I was just going to fill the holes but the bodyshop guy recommended welding the holes.Whichever way you do yours it will be a bugger to match your paint.

At least if you drill it out it will never return.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind.

Surely that is just surface rust after stone chip breaking the paint. Since you drive in salt-laden roads of Glasgow I'm not surprised it has corroded. Take it to a body shop for an opinion - I suspect they may want to pain the whole door... Try AC Coachworks, they may do spot repair rather than paint whole door.

I reckon £300 to paint the door, they should be able to blend it well if its fairly central

where abouts on the door is it? is it close to an edge?

if its quite central they should be able to blend it through, as for price im not sure on how much it would be up there as it does vary around different areas.

I wouldn't want the whole door repainted if it can be avoided. It's only a small spot so surely a small/smart repair should be OK? The other place you may wish to contact is JB Coachworks in Paisley. He does quality work - not cheap again and doesn't have a waiting area. He may do a partial repair.
