Default S2000 cluster

Hi Everyone,

Im from the US and im trying to do the F22 revv to 9K mod. In order to do this i would like to source a cluster that revvs to 9K. Specifically an AP2 cluster, the one where the tach does not go all the way across the cluster but about halfway to 6/10ths across and has the "half moon" gas and temp gauges.

Can someone tell me from what year car in the UK those were in? I want to make sure that when im asking for this part that i know what im asking for.

Also, im not sure what they go for in the UK. I realize shipping is gonna be expensive but can someone estimate how much a cluster generally goes for in the UK?

Thanks for your help guys.

Cluster for a 2004 + car can be anywhere from 70 UK pounds up to 150 UK pounds ( think $140 to $300 ) i'd guess shipping will be $70 or so.

ok, but its the 04 that i need? can it be from an 05? In 06 in the states we went to drive by wire w/VDC or traction control, so i assume that an 06 and later UK cluster wont work. or atleast i dont want that headache

Indeed the 04 and 05 ones would be easier to use as the uk 06 ones had the same dbw etc

Not sure how much the change effected the cluster though

i think it has some more lights and warnings like the VDC light and something else...*i think*

ok so 04-05 is what i want. now time to source one and ship it without having to sell the car to afford the cluster.

Also, saw a post where someone referenced a list of breakers that might have one for sale. Forgive my ignorance, but i assume a "breaker" is a junkyard or where cars that are wrecked go and you can buy parts off of them yah?

can someone point me to this list? the post i read the individual said "pinned at the top of the forum" but for whatever reason i didnt see it. Im either blind or my prescription on my glasses is way out of date.

We never had the AP2 here, its a US car.

Our dials are all 9k as a result and all as you describe on the post 2004 cars (or therabouts)
We call the 2004+ 'facelift models' if you are calling an auto-breakers over here.
Also its common here to call the cluster 'a set of clocks', or 'a speedo'

Tried eBay UK?
I see a couple on there too.

Over-reving a stock engine?
Sounds like abig risk for small gains.
RPM increases are probably harder on the internals than adding F.I. due to the extra velocity involved of the rods etc.
