I can say with sincerity that no-one with an ounce of sense that I know needlessly swerves about at speed.

You're on your own there, pal.

Glad I have fitted a hardtop now. something track day fanatics like me should definitely do just in case..

Yes, a single skin of aluminium will make all the difference.

If you swerve about to "warm up tyres", drive into a ditch now and save yourself some time.

If you think a hardtop is going to save you're life, it won't.

RIP to the poor chap who lost his life.

Tyre warming on the A1(M)???? Unlikely

As usual everyone starts jumping in with "probably causes"

Let's not jump to conclusions.
That's a police catch all, I think the original article said no other cars involved, so could have been a post or tree.

It's like they never say accident, but say incident. So if it turns out not to be accidental they won't have problems in court. It was the newspaper that called it an accident.

Never thought i'd say it, but... I never feel the need to "warm my tyres up"

not saying I do it on a public road, just on track but I've seen idiots doing it on the road and just makes me laugh...

Also hearing people say that the s2000 is a hard car to drive and is unpredictable... maybe they need to learn to drive more then as mines well balanced and don't find any issues wet or dry.

I'm not saying this guy was doing anything wrong at all, its more than likely a failure of some sort which has caused him to crash.

I'd rather have a skin of aluminium with rigid structure than a bit of material
