S2000 engined Westfield
We had the opportunity[attachment=53322SCF9281.JPG] to fettle a S2k Westfield over the last few days. Our task was to fit a more efficient intercooler (see dyno curves). Running our bottom mount race bracket with a C30-94 Rotrex supercharger we squeezed out of it 350+ bhp at 8000rpm. It was leaning out to much to run higher revs. Unfortunately we were not doing the mapping so its on its way to another dyno centre to be fine tuned. Should be a great track day weapon. We have recommended that a nice scoop be cut into the nose cone to aid cooling.

Yeah that's mine , i thought we where trying to get 1 bar ,as westfield had issues with the charger not making the quoted power ?so does this mean the car is all sorted now?

The intercooler airflow is not very good at all. You are trying to get air from a relatively low pressure area to flow through a 90 degree turn and then have no exit path.

If it doesn't work then fair play westfield have said they will remove the SC kit and I ll have a standard engined kit car. With the custom 4.1 Sierra cosworth LSD diff and uprated 6 speed honda box , lightened fly wheel , I m sure it will still be a weapon on a track day and welsh country roads .

I had a Caterham with a 2.0 YB Cosworth turbo in it. When it had it's front mount intercooler it was always trying to retard the ignition early due to high intake air temps. The solution for us was a full charge cooler system with separate pump, rad and heat exchanger.

Yes Martin the SOS kit I had now you have ..... Has a very good reliability record , however it does weigh a lot more than the tts kit , but for this application I held the tts Super charger in my hand and it weighs a bit less or about the same weight as the alternator but the biggest problem with the westfield is limited space for everything . We have to remember that this SC kit is a development kit car and I was offered it towards the end of the build . Hopefully the car will be finished and delivered to me in 2 weeks time .
