I was in Brindley Honda at Cannock on Saturday and mentioned to the sales staff that an auto box was rumoured for the S2000. A usual they'd heard nothing about it but they said they weren't surprised as numerous potential customers are lost because it has no auto transmission option. It's the first thing in fact that many people ask about apparently.
It wouldn't be my cup of tea quite frankly ,but I suppose if it was done right with a manual override, Ferrari paddle type perhaps, it would be very good and suit a lot of people.

So let's pretend it actually goes through -- what's this autobox going to be like? I'm assuming this is nothing like the Steptronic found in my friend's 330ci and related 3-series cars, since it is a 6-speed? I sure hope so, cause I hate the Steptronic tranny a whole lot, laggy shifting and everything. Can anyone describe what this ZF 6-speed autobox is like in the current BMWs and MB's that have them?

Can't help you, I'm a died in the wool stick shifter, personally, only had one auto in my life, a Jag. Somebody will come back to you on it no doubt.
You sure you're not related to Jack Nicholson?

Now, as for this "I'm a died in the wool stick shifter" phrase, can you translate that into American english if you get a chance?
