s2000 hibernation
hi
as I now have a garage, Im toying with th idea of putting the S away for the winter to ovoid salt on roads etc and use my trusty crx
do i need to do anything special if im not going to use it for say 3-4 months? like petrol, oil, tyres, brakes, battery etc

Conventional wisdom says if you plan to lay the car up for this long you should.
Check all fluids before lay-up
Add oil to the cylinders by taking the plugs out and putting a squirt into each.
Raise the car off the ground to avoid the tyres taking a "set".
Leave the handbrake off
Take out the battery and put it on charge
Find some way to wedge the clutch pedal down.
However the alternative is easier.
Get a battery conditioner (optimate or similar) and leave it connected and every 2-3 weeks on a dry day drive the car like you stole it. (once nicely warmed up.)

Some good advice there.
My view is that its a mechanical device and therefore needs regular use, so I would do a combination of the above and ensure it gets some use on dry days. Cars dont like being sat there - so many parts which need exercise.
I use my S all year round as a daily driver, and runs like a dream - I bought it to use it
