S2000 Oil Usage...
I took my car on a 300 mile trip and made sure it was pretty much full before setting off, ended up doing closer to 400...Anyway, I figured the oil would need to be topped up again. I'm running an 02 plate with 100k on the clock so i've gone by the loose rule that 100mile = 100ml.
When I came to top it up...it hadn't used any oil at all. I checked on a hill, on a flat surface, engine warm, engine cold and still exactly the same. Usually I reset the trip computer as an indicator to top up, its now done 844 miles and the oil level is still at full.
Am I missing something here?

Same for me kinda, my 51 reg I used to check every month and maybe top up a little but I did a full oil change 2 months ago and a month later did my usual checks and it's still good. I do about 250 miles a week (daily drive) and have been on a few meets too and it's still good. If your missing something then so am I
135k on the clock btw.

I have had the same experience. Generally I'm using approx 1ml oil to every two miles. I also use my trip reader 'B' to track oil usage an reset it after every check. Two months ago it used hardly any for 670 miles and then suddenly it was low within a few days. I gave the car a service with full change and it's remaind at max ever since. I usually check it every 100 miles now to be safe.

Oil consumption is associated mostly with V-TEC and revs close to 9000. Generally on a trip you do normal driving without hitting V-TEC many times so i believe is normal and shows a healthy engine even if it has 100k on the clock.

Rule of thumb, check it every time you fill up that way you will never get caught out. Some S2000 drink oil others don't it's the luck of the draw and driving style, also some brands of oil burn faster than others. Each X on the dipstick is 100mL keep it at the top X.
Unless it's mental useage, chill and enjoy the drive.

I guess it does depend on your driving style and how often you can boot it.
MY01 with 118K up and a daily drive will use no oil at all unless I get to Vtec it (once in a blue moon with the traffic round here) and then it will drop a little. All serviceable items are checked every Sunday, tyres, oil, water, lights regardless. Oil and filter changed every 6K with full Syn.

My VTEC usage is very limited and my car consumes oil just daily driving. My oil consumption stays relatively static, even with the VTEC usage that it occasionally gets.

Mine used a lot after a track day ages ago, tried a few tweaks to the oil then changed the oil recently, its done 2000miles since without needing any top up.
Strange appetite these cars have!

Admittedly I won't rag it to the full 9k much at all as theres no real need outside of seeing how fast you can empty your fuel tank.
