we all went out for a nice sunday drive. We naturally had several races lol and to my shock I only just beat him, I really had to give it everything to get past him and he had four people in the car. I just wantded to post something to see what you guys had to say?
I've only had my S for three weeks but I certainly didn't buy it for it's straight line speed - more for it's 9k red line and handling plus summer fun.
I used to have a manual FTO Mivec for years and tbh initially the S didn't feel any quicker. The FTO while not particularly fast, was quicker than people gave it credit for (it was slightly tuned and didn't have that horrible auto box). However there were always times when I was being out accelerated by the new breed of hot hatches (CTR, Focus ST ect). I didn't buy the S to race people people on the road so this didn't bother me. However in the last couple of weeks the only times people have tried to piss me off by driving slowly then putting their foot down thinking they'll leave me, they havn't. That makes a big change from the FTO. So far I know my S will out accelerate a new CTR, a new Focus ST and an Evo 260 so it's not slow. Personnaly I get far more fun from being on my own on a nice deserted road and am not particularly bothered if some boy racer thinks his car is faster than mine so will quite happily let people go. I'm sure no one on here bought their car to race people they don't even know.
If your happy then that it..

The question to ask yourself is this:
Yesterday, was your car quick? I assume you believe Yes?
The car is no slower just because another car is also quick. You haven't suddenly lost power etc.
you need 50bhp/tonne advantage (lets say 100bhp ignoring weight) to notice it on the road. I had a little "fun" following a Z4M on clear dual carriageways last week and there was virtually nothing in it, however I know the Z4M is a faster car, it just won't be "that" noticeable on the road.
Anyway, people get too wrapped up in comparing their car to another. Do you like your car? Do you enjoy it? If yes, then who cares how much faster or slower other cars on the road are.

I'd say the Tuscan S is a wonderfully fast car!
I really enjoyed driving one.
But with all that power and very little weight, they can be a tad interesting in slippery conditions.
But as to whether a Mini or a Reno Migraine can then keep up, probably; but I CGAF.

If you were on the road - I say, grow up, or end up in prison for killing someone
