Well I have next week off work and really really want to try and get it in a position to start it so needed to get cracking really.

The clutch will sit at the same position in the bellhousing that it would in the standard setup, I've yet to figure out the depth of the spacer required as the F20 and J30 crank ends sit at different relative positions.

A quick update, spent a few hours finishing the plate with things like threads and counterbores. Still have a few more bits to do but decided to give it a test fit.

Quite close to the clutch master cylinder but enough room to play with.

It looks like there is plenty of room for the Rotrex to go in there but once the alternator, exhaust manifold and engine mounts are in place I think it is going to be pretty tight, manageable but tight.

Not entirely sure where to go with the inlet manifold whether to mod the current one or just make a new one... A bit more playing required before drawing that conclusion I think.

good work - handy how the s2k front lends itself to engine work - must have had race engineer input in the design stage to get that in (bit like the vertical position bonnet prop). One thing I though the S lacked was low grunt so see where you are coming from with the V-unit. Having had a TVR S3 (2.9 Ford V6), it was the perfect number of cylinders for a small, light soft-top.

All seems to be working out tidily.

Hope it goes well.

Maybe it's only J35s, but I think the inlet manifold is relatively easy to reverse. Almost as if they thought about it.

i would build a J35 with TL-S heads or just run with the J32a3. its a tad higher compression.

the Tq is what's going to put that massive smile on your face as soon as you slam 2nd and 3rd.

I would have opted for the inline pro kit if it was a little bit cheaper, to get it over here would cost about £1800 and I couldn't justify that for what is essentially a budget build.

As for the engine itself, we only get the J30 over here so it's case of having to use it. If it works out okay I might import a bigger engine from the states, however I do have a turbo and a supercharger sitting in the garage so may just use one (or both) of those.

Out of curiosity, how thick was the flywheel spacer and what bolts were used?
