Default S2000 values

thought it might be an idea to start a separate thread rather than spam up a FS thread

maybe the mods could jump on the 'comments' as soon as they appear?

seems to be a degree of false hope about the value of earlier cars in particular

ie '99 models, with around 75K miles, asking close to

Looking at the list of cars for sale I can see only one car that looks like a good buy at the price.

Yup, But it's always the same.

Owners will over-value, and the buyer will undervalue.

It's then about coming to a deal that both can agree on.

I'm just holding out that someone wants to pay a bit extra, for some extras.

If not, I'll pull bits off and then sell the car cheaper.

A high mileage, early model =

I have valued mine at a price which I thought was realistic but not even a sniff with the exception of the chap from Cyprus whos friend is coming over with a cheque but wants some change

I've advertised on here, Pistonheads and the local rag which incidentally is the place where I have usually sold cars straight away.

The S2000 only appeals to a relatively small market which I think decreases in size further during the winter months. Who knows things may pick up in the spring but even then this year Im not sure

The car is only worth what someone is willing to pay so I may yet still just keep it anyway !!!

well i have a MY00 import with 87k with CTSC full aem engine management etc, brembo bbk, tasty prodrive wheels, retro fit glass roof and the like and I think that in current climate that i would get about 8.5k but i guess it would be to a very select market. Is that a realistic price itself?

I'd like to sell it as circumstances have changed vastly since last year, both the wife and i working for two seperate hedge funds have been made redundant so income which was high is now non existent and if i could get 8.5k it would go in a flash.
