I reckon the s2000 is a bit quicker than an older boxster S if you are in VTEC
Z4 the decent 3l or whatever is probably about the same if you are in VTEC

MGF and MX5, Z3 and TT you will be much faster

the vauxhall turbo VX200 thing is a missile! you might keep up with it over 70mph-100mph though

I couldn't keep up with a 350z convertible one time but I was starting from 0 revs, I kept up with another one before but I think they are a little bit faster to be honest.

I had an impreza of some type chase me and couldn't catch me from about 40-120+ the other day I was surprised but maybe I just got the drop on him cos he wasn't on the boost or whatever.

There is no margine for error - one ####ed change in the S2000 or a city boy that changes up at 8000rpm and the CTR will keep up or beat it. Rolling at 20mph with my mate in front and me reacting to him flooring it I can overtake and be about 5 car lengths ahead by 120mph. I have the T1-R decat and when it was standard it would be a case of getting past, just!! I played with another one down south two up with my roof down and he remained glued to my bumper.

Thats what I love about the CTR - ATTACK MODE I call it! You have to keep it on the boil to get the best out of it not just sit back like you do in a turbo relying on the bags of torque!

What's your S budget?

Do you know 'BendeR, Hyperchronik or idletwat'?

at this thread...it's got troll all over it. Either that or sad chavvy boy-racer.

The S2000 IS NOT a drag-car, in any way shape or form. Get a Pulsar GTi or an STi and be done with it man!!!

Pie, Soul...quality...keep 'em coming!

How funny! The other factor is technique. In Central London I used to be able to beat just about anything in an automatic Sierra 2.0 estate, simply because no-one expected anything. It's hard to look nonchalant in an S and there's very little low-down torque, so you may have a hard time beating anything with torque, driven by someone who just stands on it. I think you should buy the car for all of its other great qualities. If you get it right, you shouldn't have too much difficulty beating most of your listed cars away from the lights. But it's what happens in the next 500 yards, when you reach a roundabout, when it's wet and when your antics are spotted by the Law that will make it interesting. Have fun!

I was beaten by a turbo'd escort the other day. my girlfriend p**sed herself laughing, and I told her that it was her fat arse that was slowing me down, and to get out at the next set of lights.

I remember being told a similar thing when I posted a similar question over a year and a half ago. The S2000 isn't a drag car, it's slow in a straight-line, etc.

I have to say I disagree. It's really quite able in a straightline but it does have its weaknesses and you have to work around them. I've spend under
