Default S2000 & VX220

That's it, two performance cars in the household now. The trusted S and the upstart VX220 owned by by son.

Here are some pics we took today:

Dunno what happened with the pics, the mats don't really look that shitty

Observations:

The VX is quite a bit lower than the 'S'

The ride in the VX is harsher

With no power steering, the VX feels more responsive

With A PRM, the 'S' sounds throatier (?) but the VX still sounds good

'S' - roof down in 6 secs, VX - roof off in 10 secs (and I just sat there while Nick moved like lightening )

Accelleration - 'S' Vetec , VX Very smooth and quick

Grip - both good but the VX feels more planted

Visibility - the 'S' takes it on the basis that the blind spots on the VX are bigger

Getting in and out, the 'S' is easier!

Seats - the VX are hard, but you get used to them and they are comfortable.
'S' comfortable

Interior - The 'S' has more comforts, the VX has a lot of metal

Boot - 'S' small even with the tool kit out, VX Smaller

Clock - 'S', No , VX, on the HU

Drive quality - Both great

Fun factor - Both fantastic

Potential for points on license - 'S', hopefully low, VX, Better bloody be non-existent

We'll be testing th 0 - 60 soon

Overall, they satisfy slightly different markets but both are fantastic cars.

Would you get a briefcase in the boot of the VX?

I looked at one before buying the S, but the Vauxhall salesman didn't know how to open the boot

Your white is looking lush Chris The S seats are quiite high - certainly higher than my MX-5. The VX looks tempting as well.

We got about 8 bags of shopping in my housemate's VX.

Was a tight squeeze though and I had to have one on my lap in the passenger seat
