Default Be safe out there

I know we already have a winter driving thread, but the roads are really shitty out there at the moment.

So far most of us have been safe (reaches for a massive piece of wood) and I hope that continues.

Saw this on the US forum:

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=337103

It brought it home to me once again that this car can bite you.

Take it easy out there people.

Mods feel free to merge with the Winter thread if necessary.

Aye, nasty frost snap last night. Took about 10 minutes for my car to melt this morning and a tad slippy over the back roads to work.

American meets (in this case a wet) corner and doesn't know what to do shocker.

EDIT: He wasn't supping on his ribena as he changed into 3rd was he? By his own admission he "wasn't paying enough attention"...

I think that's kind of my point.

We have gotten used to 'good' road conditions over the summer where the car is happy to be chucked about like a whore in bed and doesn't punish you when you have a slight lapse in concentration.

However, now that the conditions are poor, the rules have changed. Driving styles need to be ammended.

I honestly don't find the car much different now I've actually learned how to drive it. But at first I was a liability in the wet!

I imagine we'll get at least half a dozen prangs over the next three months

I learnt my lesson on Arran.

I bought mine in June so it's been summer, dry driving for the most part, even up in Scotland, until weekend before last.

Sounds like a fair bet. Wonder how many will admit to them though.
