Default The salt!

Some of you may know of my rather epic FAIL weekend last year visiting MASE at Surrey RR. basically turned up with a series 2 aem that didnt work, tuned an apexi vafc that worked but not 100% and then an epic 12.5 hour journey home in that snow that dropped!

Well, you can imagine the crap that has been thrown up into every nook and cranny in the S during that journey home.

Im still finding bits in the engine bay that are seemingly being eaten away by the damn salt and its starting to really grate me (no pun intended)

Ive done the usual thorough cleaning job on everything I can but im still finding bits

Anyone any tips on how to protect against this sort of thing? The car has been on the drive for the best part of a month while I get some jobs done on it.

Ive been doing weekly start up and warm up and checking everything, WD40'ing everywere that looks like it needs it lol.

I've heard of people running sprinklers under their cars for a while, just keep moving it around every so often and that should clean the salt out of the nooks and crannies.

Then just underseal/waxoil the hell out of everything?

I remember Waxoyl from years ago!! If it's still in production it must have some benefit.
I done a quick search for the merits and the land rover club mention it so it must be good stuff.

Just drive it around in the rain. The salt will soon wash off over time.

Waxoyled all my cars including the S2000. Last year I spotted one of my old MR2 Turbo's at JAE and after being in the UK for nearly 10 years now it still had no signs of rust on the underbody. Hopefully my S will be just as clean in 10 years time.

I used Hammerite underbody seal (contains waxoil as well). Very easy to apply, and easy to spot after few years where you need to put some more on... Underbody, wheelarches, wherever you want it
