Vafc
please dont flame me for this, but i need someone to contact me somehow and please explain to me exactly what the vafc is. I would like to know if it is bad for the car, and if its reccomended. Thanks so much
you'll get a lot of varied opinions from this.
i personally had one, but never tuned it. it just sat there, 'cause i didn't want to tune it, so i decided to just sell it and save up something else, and then get aem ems instead (eventually).
i've seen threads about people thinking the gains weren't very good for the amount of money they've spent, as well as the opposite. if your settings are wrong, then yes you can hurt your car.

Beings how that "bandwagon" was being jumped on by almost everybody at the time. You mean to say it's not the "end all, be all"?
I've been feeling so guilt ridden since I missed out on it.
Whew! Such relief!
(Easy boys! It's just a joke.

ok, how about a definition of what it is:
it controls air/fuel mixture of the engine and you can lower or raise the vtec engagement point of the engine itself.
now as far as what it can put out - yes, it can increase the horses on your car - some have shown as little as 6hp (which is actually quite a bit to the wheels) and some have seen as much as 15hp.
for the price, you really can't beat that kind of gain with any other kinds of mods. the AEM EMS is a great piece if you have a lot of other mods that you need to customize your entire fuel mapping for, or if you just want to follow in other's footsteps without lots of other mods. (AEM EMS - ~1500 bucks before dyno tuning = 3 track weekends / 6 days of track time / 600 minutes of track time) That's my two cents.

The AEM EMS is unproven at this point. Wesmaster's problems might be related to the blower, but I think not. I don't see why his fuel delivery would be such a problem, regardless.
The V-AFC has been in use in the Honda community for years, and has been successfully installed/tuned in many S2000's.
In order to achieve max gains at the wheel, the car will need to be dynoed with the unit and adjusted for max power. A dyno with a wideband O2 makes this easiest (you can plot a/f and then adjust and verify). Tuning without a wideband O2 is time consuming, and without a dyno it's damn near impossible.
