Default Same old seat question

I intend to track my car when I get it on the road (getting closer); I am 6'2" and have a slightly longer body and slightly shorter legs than you'd expect for a guy my height.

My wife is 6'1" and we both use the same seat position in all our cars (with the exception that I like to be one notch more upright on the seat back and the steering wheel a fair bit closer).

With a helmet on I am currently sitting proud of the roll hoop.

I am also about 18 stone (I like pies, sue me).

I have read the threads about the lowered rails and the ones about the diy chair cutting mod and I'm not sure that's for me.

What I need to know is this:

1: What are my options for a bucket seat that is: Compatible with 5 or 6 point harnesses, HANS compatible, big enough for my fat ass, able to fit in the S2K and relatively affordable?

2: Can I get the seat lower if I am prepared to delete the ability to slide it? My wife and I are the same height so I don't need to move it and it might stop really short TWOCers

Thanks for looking everyone.

Buddy Club aren't HANS compatible, but you would fit in them. I had my mate of 18st and 5'10 in it without issue

Seeing as our cousins over the pond tend to be a bit larger, have you tried asking on any of the US forums?

Very delicately put.

I have got hold of a copy of Demon tweeks' catalogue but there is no indication if a given seat will go in an S2K.

Perhaps I should just loose a load of weight.

It's a very tricky subject, and I struggled to get any info when I selected my seats.

I went with the Buddyclub P1 XL seats and rails.

They are a very tight fit and one of the rails won't bolt down properly.

Having been on a couple of S2K meets in the US, I'd suggest they aren't. There are many small asian lads, for example.

Most of the S2000 buckets I've tried are too tiny for me.

I'm 6' and about 13 stones.

BYS rails probably make most sense; the door card supports you in LH turns & the tranny tunnel sort of does in RH ones.

As for losing weight; remember Colin Chapman's mantra and how expensive S2000 tuning is; you'll see the light!

Yeah, at his heaviest that guy weighed the same as I did just before I joined the army the ones he used are just under 900 quid though.

Bit pricey.

I might just go for the old 2 part polyurethane foam in a bin bag trick.

I can't think of anywhere I could go (except tweaks in wrexham) where I could just pull out my seats and try a load of the XL size seats in the car, I could even post my findings.

Problem is Wrexham is bloody miles away.
