I need to get some stat's on the number of cameras in the UK, number of drivers here , and the number of speeding endorsements that drivers have collected from these devices (such that I can quote the source publicly).

Can anybody here help point me in the right direction?

Thanks for this but I'm really after some DFT data - I imagine they keep this well hidden though and only publish information that has been manipulated to support the government's position on the subject.

There must be seperate sources of information on the number of speed cameras in the UK, the number of drivers here, and the number of these with speeding endorsements. If I can find info on all three I'll post it on here also. I just know these are going to be big numbers

No, I'm not being offensive I mean that when questioned, most of these Scamera Partnerships refuse to publish any figures.

The ABD's representatives have been making nuisances of themselves along similar lines, as has Mike Rutherford of Auto Express. They've all been fcuked off by those responsible.

Tony doesn't like his beliefs to be undermined by refuseniks brandishing facts.

 

That will explain why I can't find anything...like they say lies, damned lies and government statisitics. But, unlike WMD, I'll bet the raw data on scamera's does exist somewhere.

 

Have a look at http://www.safespeed.org.uk/ - IIRC, there's some discussion of available stats, & how these can / have been "focused" to provide the correct answers.

 

wouldn't people like road angel et al. have the info? They seem to claim they know of 99.9% of all cameras.

 

Good point Rahula I was going to suggest the same. Blackspot, Origin or Snooper will have the number of cameras out there. Try emailing the department of transport and see what kind of response you get.
