I experience no scuttle shake on my MY2000 vehicle.

My setup
18" tyres with a 40 profile sidewall
KW Variant 3
Strut braces
Chassis re-enforcement
Sub-frame collars

Just so you know mines a 2005 (MY56) with Bridgestone Potenza's proper S2000 fitment, had the geo done last year with the new tyres and the back end is as solid as a rock on stock settings.

Rich's post makes me think it might be damping that's your problem. I hated the way the rear felt on my 2005 car - personal taste of course, but it felt wallowy and didn't recover from bumps the way I wanted it to. I can only describe it as not 'holding' the rear of the car steady enough. There was nothing damaged or worn, it just didn't suit me.

If the other owners pronounce your car normal, I'd suggest taking a ride in either a pre-facelift or MY08-09 car with the stiffer set up, or one with a non-OEM set up, to see if they suffer with the same symptoms or not.

As said elsewhere, the chassis itself is stiff as you like.

BTW, Rich, WTF is an MY56?

Cheer guys.

i will try and make the pub meet on the 24th. as it might well be me just been picky, but I've been out in the car today to the retail mecca that is Hanley (roof down of course, and tonnou fitted as it apparently never went on in the 10 yrs of previous ownership. ) there is definitely a shake / shudder over poor road surfaces, particularly at low rev's / higher gear.

would be good to compare a couple of other cars from different oem positions.

As said i want to keep as standard as possible for comfort and tbh resale, but happy to upgrade parts if it improves the feel, it is after all for driving not polishing

When you put it like that, it sounds like something loose or broken*

*Bear in mind I have no technical skills whatsoever (but I do have 50k+ miles in my S under my belt).

What sort of speed/gear/RPM are you talking about?

As in '06 and '56, denotes second half of year registration.

Also to the OP the "proper" Potenza tyres have a very stiff sidewall, this is a major contributor to the compliance of the car.

I think you'll find 56 is a UK registration period, whereas model years denote the manufacturer's spec for a given year. Thusly, your car could be a MY06 or, seeing as new stock usually enters the market towards the end of the preceding year, you could have a MY07.

Meet you in Muppets, maybe?

I'm a little bit surprised you've ventured outside of your normal muppet stomping ground FB!
