Folks,

I'm 6' 4 1/2" tall and, as such, have the seat pushed right back as far as it'll go - at which point I'm really quite comfy; even over long distances.

The thing is; the leather of the seat squeeks a lot against the hard surfaces behind it. Any clever people here (who are similarly tall) come up with any neat solutions for the squeeking? My first thought is to stick some kind of frictionless material either to the rear of the seat or (more likely) to the hard surfaces behind the seat upon which the seat squeeks. (I've already removed the tie-hooks.)

Any and all suggestions would be most welcome.

Bring the back it towards you by one tiny notch, then it should be ok. I found the same - 6'2

I have a small towel trapped between seat and surfaces for that very reason - it isn't that technical but it works for me

I used one of tose foam tubes you insulate pipes with. Cut it in half and shove 2 uprights in the pocket behind the seat. worked for me


or a towel..

you sure its the seat against the back? when laid back the seatbelt also squeaks against the leather of the seat...

I get the same with the passenger seat when my husband has been in the car. With the drivers seat I moved it forward just a small notch to stop it happening.

I'm 6'3 and had the same problem. I found by not having the seat reclined as far as it could and 1 less notch less it solves the problem.

Hey: that one and a half inches makes a BIG difference my friend .....

Seriously though, thanks for all the input - most appreciated . Only I will NOT be chopping my legs off at the knee AE ......

I could - as some of you suggest - move the seat forward a notch - but then the steering wheel is rubbing on my left thigh all the time .... and whilst I DO rather like my S2000 .............

Soooooo: I think I'll be trying either the towel (NOT for too much thigh rubbing .....) or the pipe lagging idea!
