Sounds like a "stolen to order" job otherwise they might have had the S too. Did the Disco have a security system?

I have considered getting a tracker but am not that attached to the car, if a thief is determined enough to get past the alarm and two immobilisers then so be it, it is only a car and it is insured.

Birch is too good for them, let them kiss the gunner's daughter, then hang, draw and quarter them

Been thinking about garage security ever since a neighbour threatened to "cave my head in"

- Nice neighbours you have !

I like that last URL -

Sorry to hear about the Discovery theft, Mr Bean. I am so glad I live where I live; we get the odd petty burglary and joy-ride type car theft, but that's about it. I have to park on my drive (1952 garage - too small) and therefore have fitted an RAC Trackstar, especially as I travel into the West Midlands from time to time where security is much more of an issue.

You make it sound like the Wild West or somewhere like Chechnya, Pete!

I'll admit that there are some rough areas in the Midlands, but it's not all like that. I'd imagine it's probably not much different to any other big urban sprawl area. That said, my sentiments about dealing with TWOCers isn't much different to those espoused by MD above - my brother had his car stolen from outside my parents house a few years ago. It was only a 1.2 Nova, but he'd put alloy wheels on, which was presumably what attracted the thieves. It was found a couple of hours later, dumped up a backroad about 1/2 a mile away. They'd taken the wheels off and just torched it

Mind you, I don't know why I feel obliged to defend my region of birth - Solihull, where I live now, is only just within the southernmost fringes of the region, and I'd be rather happy if the county boundaries were changed so that Warwickshire stretched 3-4 miles further north to encompass it!

I went to a big wedding in Solihull - in a marquee in the bride's parents garden (BIG house). I parked in a lane by the side of the house and when I came out my 900 Carlsson's window was smashed and my ICE ripped out

But, I was thinking more of the West Midlands I tend to visit regulalrly on business. The REAL West Midlands - i.e. Wolverhampton, Willenhall, Bilston, Walsall and similar highly celubrious places

Agreed, Pete. I was born in Tipton, and it doesn't get any rougher than that!

My grandparents were born, raised and lived most their lives in Bilston, but moved to your part of the world when they retired. Sensible move, I think.......

Tipton, that`s in Viz a lot. I`ll never forget the Tipton Disney ad they did, `come to Tipton Disney, it`s better than the one in Paris`....

sweet.
