Like it!

25,000 miles on an engine? What a PoS; I got over 30,000 from a Honda one!

OK, they are a bit focussed (primitive) and a spanner set's essential, but NOTHING feels like a step up from an S2000 like a TVR does. Other than a superbike, of course.

OK, I've only driven the Tuscan S; less than 390 BHP per tonne seems a bit lame by comparison, but I'm sure upgrades are possible.

Think I'd still keep the S2000, for when it was broken down.

I came the other way, had a Griff 500 for over 5 years, just got fed up of it. It wasn't what you'd call unreliable, only ever came home on a flat bed once and that was due to a holed radiator, which wasn't the car's fault just some debris off the road. It's one of them cars that need constant attention. You'll enjoy the extra power but it's the lack of 'engineering' that you'll miss from the S, that's the one thing I prefer over the Griff.

You're one of several, TBH.

I can really understand why people want to blow their S2000s; a sensitively-tuned one really would render most other cars irrelevant.

I sort of wonder that now TVR's gone, someone ought to buy the design rights/tooling off Honda...and lose another bloody fortune in the process. Perhaps not.

Yes i know TVR = Tow Vehicle Required, but i honestly believe that a well looked after car with an engine rebuild should be fairly reliable.

I had a modified Griffith 500 for over 2 years and it never really let me down .... though it did need money to keep on top of things that needed replacing. I took this to be the cost of keeping a car on the road capable of staying with the likes of a Ferrari and murdering the likes of S2000's .....

That said, I went to it from an S2000 but when I sold the Griff I was back in an S2000 again .... and there is a reason for that - a TVR is great but not generally as your only car. They are very focused and take some living with on a day to day basis. The S does many things better than most realise .... which is why I went back to one (albeit it too has now gone )

I loved having my Griffith but do not regret selling it. I may miss it but that's another matter - if that makes sense

The Tamora is a super car - but has an engine that is known to be a problem. One rebuild may have cured it - it may not. I would want to know who did the rebuild. A work colleague of mine has just put his Tuscan in the garage for an engine rebuild ... his lasted from 2002 before needing it. When the cars are going well there is little on the road to touch them - for speed or fun. Just be aware that even with a rebuild it may need another at some stage - costing in the region of

TVR power seem to be the authority on rebuilding a SP6 engine - they even give a 2 year unlimited mile warranty with it.
