Service Interval
I bought my S2000 last August with 20K miles on the clock. The previous owner had kept the mileage down and serviced the car on an annual basis instead of every 9K miles (as you are supposed to, should be whichever comes first and he was doing less than 9K miles a year).
On the other hand I will be doing 12-15K miles per year and will therefore be servicing the car every 9K miles. I am now coming up to 27K miles which would ordinarily be a service interval mileage. However, due to the low mileage of my car and previous service record (last service at 20K), strictly speaking I do not need to service my car for another 2K miles.
The question is, do I get a service carried out now and get back on the Honda recommended mileage service intervals or do I wait till 29K and service the car every 9K miles? The reason I ask this is because different work is carried out depending on the service mileage so am I advised to get a 27K service now or a routine service in another 2K miles. Does it make any difference? Is 27K usually a major service interval? I am presuming that the 3 year service carried out when the car had only done 15K miles would

I would get it now. IIRC 27k is a fairly big service. Stick to the mileage now you're doing it, that's my philosophy anyway, it removes the need to answer any questions on resale
when i purchased my S2000 it had 4K on the clock & 4 years old!! Had been serviced every 12 months.
I do about 18K a year so get it serviced every 9K now & that's what i would recommend!
Be warned though! if you drive hard make sure you check the oil on a regular basis. Don't wait for a service to check. Low oil NO VTEC, engine damage etc.............

this is my dilemma....mine has only done 16k and the next service is supposed to be done at 27k.....I am tempted to do another oil service
I have looked to see what is involved at 27k, a lot of it involves a visual inspection, all I am after is the stamp in the service book

if you go for every 12 months or 9k which ever comes first!
You can always do an oil change yourself in between which people seem to do.
if you have done 16k then check when last service done and stick to 12 months or 9k. So obviously the next service is not at 27K.
