Default Shell V-Power

Typically; my nearest Shell garage is miles away and in the opposite direction to where I normally travel. So I was thinking which fuels, if any, are a comparable alternative to V-Power. Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated. BTW; my local garage is BP.

Is BP ultimate 97 octane? They stopped doing the 102 didn't they?

Tesco do a 99 octane which is comparible to V-power though.

Unless the car is tuned to anything in particular the BP 97 should be fine.

I've been running my S on BP Ultimate for as long as I've had the car, and it's fine. I do get better MPG compared to normal BP unleaded as well, so the higher price is worth it.

Tesco is as good as Shell in the power stakes. BP is 97, but you aren't really going to notice the difference on a low powered NA car, and I still think is has better cleaning additives.

my very local v power recently decided to stop selling it, as a v power club card member lol I complained as Iv been buying it since I had my mr2 turbo 6 years ago. they only stated thast they 'may' return to my usual outlet in the future and advised I can travel to my next nearest shell which is across the city. theres a a new tesco actually closer which I now use so I responded to my complaint sataing Im using tesco so to cancel my membership. means nothing to them but I got on great with the shell cashier guy
