Just more out of interest than anything... why have some models got black windscreen surrounds (a posts) and others are colour coded?..

Earlier cars had black trim around the windscreen frame. From memory. from 02 (?) onwards, no trim was applied (for the European market, anyway) and the screen is colour-coded.

I think the Septics retained the trim until rather later. They may even still have it - dunno.

You can remove it with a heat gun.....although I've never been brave enough. Some people found dodgy paintwork beneath.

i was wondering if it was on older import (jdm) non GT models... spotted one yesterday (i flashed and he frowned at me lol) had a private plate on and early non polished 16 wheels .. so wouldnt have been a gt.. thought that it might be that with a hard top it would be colour coded?..

Age would definitely be a factor. JDM may have been different to EDM, although I think they were the same and it was USDM that was different.

GT -v- non-GT is a red herring. There's no such thing as a GT officially - it was originally a wheeze dreamt up by Honda UK marketing to flog the hard top with the car.

Oh, plenty. Like anything technical!

I've been reading on here for the better part of 6 years - a lot of this useless crap just seems to seep in and lodge. It gives the impression of being knowledgeable but I'm really just a sponge for trivial information

two peas from the same pod... anything to do with cars sticks like glue with me... iv had 37 of them so as you can guess im a bit of a car nut..just wish it had been the same knowledge with my education lol.. normally my cars only last about 3-6 months before i sell and change... the only cars iv held onto for a long time have been my 02 civic type r (1yr) and iv got no intention of letting my s2k go for a long time (says alot about honda!!) ... time for mods soon .. but just been made redundant so its all gotta wait for a while .. really should get round to becoming a fully fledged member
